Pedometer

Pedometer Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 12, 2026

Pedometer is a private iPhone and Apple Watch activity and workout tracker. It shows your steps, walking/running distance, flights climbed, active calories, local charts, local step goal progress, workouts, and widgets or complications using Apple frameworks.

HealthKit Data

Pedometer requests read access to these HealthKit data types:

This data is used only to show activity and workout history inside the app and on Apple Watch. When you deliberately start tracking a workout, Pedometer requests write access to save the workout to Apple Health. Outdoor workouts can save a route to Apple Health if you allow location access; indoor workouts never request location, and location denial records the workout without a route. Workout and route values are never placed in widgets, ads, analytics, app-owned cloud storage, or app-owned databases.

Data Storage

HealthKit data stays on your device. Pedometer does not upload HealthKit data to a server.

The app may store these app-owned values locally on your device or in the app group shared between the app and its widgets:

These values are used only to run app features on your device.

App/widget snapshots and premium preferences are shared only through a same-device app-group container. They are not synced between iPhone and Apple Watch, uploaded to a backend, or stored in iCloud. StoreKit can restore your Plus entitlement on another eligible device, but it does not sync local preferences.

Your Controls

You can manage HealthKit permission in the Apple Health app or iOS Settings. You can remove local Pedometer data by deleting the app. You can manage or cancel Pedometer Plus through your Apple ID subscription settings.

Pedometer Plus

Pedometer Plus uses Apple’s StoreKit system to process auto-renewable subscriptions, purchases, restores, and entitlement state. Pedometer does not receive or store your full payment card details.

Pedometer Plus removes iPhone banner ads and unlocks optional personalization. Core pedometer features remain free, including today’s activity metrics, local charts, local goal setting, widgets, and complications. Premium preferences stay local to the app/device where you select them.

Ads

The iPhone app may show a Google Mobile Ads banner placement to free users. Pedometer Plus hides this banner.

Ads are limited to one eligible inline iPhone placement. Ads are not shown in the Apple Watch app, workouts, Live Activities, widgets, complications, health or location permission experiences, privacy information, purchase flow, or critical error states.

The current source uses production AdMob IDs for the iPhone banner. The iPhone app asks for App Tracking Transparency permission before loading the banner so personalized ad tracking is used only if you allow it. Ads can still load if tracking permission is denied.

HealthKit data is never used for advertising, marketing, tracking, profiling, data mining, or ad targeting. Pedometer does not send step count, goal, chart data, distance, flights climbed, active calories, HealthKit authorization state, fitness status, or HealthKit-derived metadata to ad systems.

Google Mobile Ads may collect ad-related data described by its embedded privacy manifest, including coarse location, device ID, advertising data, product interaction, crash data, performance data, and other diagnostic data. Google Mobile Ads’ publisher first-party ID is disabled in Pedometer.

Network, Analytics, and Tracking

Pedometer has no account system, backend, or analytics SDK.

Pedometer does not sell, share, track, profile, or data-mine your HealthKit data. It does not transmit HealthKit data over the network.

iCloud

Pedometer does not store personal health information in iCloud.

Children

Pedometer is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Medical Disclaimer

Pedometer is for general fitness and pedometer display only. It does not provide medical, diagnostic, treatment, clinical, emergency, or health research guidance. Do not use Pedometer to make medical decisions.

Changes

This policy may be updated when app features or privacy practices change. The effective date above will be updated when that happens.
